SAT & ACT Preparation Built Around the Student, Not a Package
The SAT and ACT are not simply content exams. Success depends on understanding the material, managing time effectively, recognizing patterns, and developing the confidence to perform under pressure.
Every student begins from a different place. Some students need to strengthen foundational math concepts. Some already know the material but struggle with pacing.
Others simply need a structured plan and accountability. There is no single formula that works for everyone.
That is why every Momentum Prep student begins with a conversation before tutoring ever begins.
Every Student Starts with Brad
Before recommending a tutor or tutoring schedule, Brad takes the time to understand:
-
Current SAT or ACT scores
-
Academic strengths and weaknesses
-
College goals
-
Testing timeline
-
Learning style
-
Confidence level
-
Previous preparation
Only after understanding the student do we recommend a plan.
Sometimes that means intensive preparation.
Sometimes once per week is enough.
Sometimes the best recommendation is to wait before beginning tutoring.
Our goal is not to sell the most tutoring.
Our goal is to recommend the right plan.
While students will see improvement just from being attentive during the tutoring sessions, for the most improvement, students are always required to complete their assigned homework. Homework is due the night before the next session. Homework is to be worked on throughout the week, not just at the last minute.

Why Momentum Prep is Different
Many tutoring companies begin by recommending a package.
Momentum Prep begins by asking questions.
We want to understand:
-
Why isn't this student scoring higher?
-
Is it content?
-
Is it confidence?
-
Is it pacing?
-
Is it test anxiety?
-
Is it inefficient studying?
Only after answering those questions do we begin building a plan.
Parents come to Momentum Prep with uncertainty. They should leave with clarity.
Our Philosophy
We don't believe success comes from memorizing shortcuts.
It comes from understanding why questions are written the way they are, recognizing recurring patterns, and practicing intentionally over time.
As scores improve, the focus naturally shifts.
Early tutoring may emphasize content review.
Later sessions often focus on pacing, decision-making, confidence, and official practice exams.
Preparation evolves as the student evolves.
Frequently Asked Questions
When should my child begin SAT or ACT tutoring?
There isn't one correct answer.
Some students benefit from starting six months before their first exam. Others should begin earlier, while some students don't need tutoring at all.
The right timeline depends on the student's goals, current performance, academic schedule, and testing plan. Every recommendation is made individually after speaking with the family.
How often should students meet?
There is no standard recommendation.
Some students benefit from meeting once a week. Others may meet more or less frequently depending on their goals, timeline, and current level of preparation.
Momentum Prep does not believe in one-size-fits-all tutoring schedules. Recommendations are based on what will genuinely help the student succeed.
Do you offer tutoring packages?
No. Momentum Prep does not require students to purchase tutoring packages or commit to a predetermined number of sessions.
Families are billed monthly based on the sessions they schedule. This allows us to recommend only the amount of tutoring we genuinely believe will benefit the student.
Who will my child work with?
Every student begins with Brad.
During the initial consultation, Brad learns about the student's goals, strengths, challenges, and timeline before recommending a plan.
Some students work directly with Brad throughout the entire process. Others may work with another Momentum Prep specialist, or with multiple tutors depending on the student's needs. For example, many SAT students work with Brad for math while another specialist teaches Reading & Writing.
Our priority is always matching students with the instructor who gives them the best chance to succeed.
Do you tutor online or in person?
Most tutoring is conducted virtually through Zoom.
Online tutoring allows students to work with the instructor who best fits their needs regardless of location. Families appreciate the flexibility, convenience, and ability to avoid travel while still receiving highly personalized instruction.
Momentum Prep currently works with students throughout the United States.
My child already has a high SAT score. Can tutoring still help?
Often, yes.
Students scoring in the 1400s or 1500s typically need a different approach than students building foundational skills.
At higher score levels, tutoring often focuses on pacing, decision-making, identifying recurring testing patterns, and maximizing performance through official practice exams rather than simply teaching new material.
Every student's situation is different, which is why we begin with a consultation before making recommendations.
How long does SAT preparation usually take?
There isn't a fixed answer.
Some students prepare over several months, while others benefit from a shorter, more intensive timeline.
The appropriate preparation schedule depends on the student's starting score, target score, testing dates, and availability.
Rather than recommending a standard number of sessions, Momentum Prep develops a plan that fits the individual student.
What makes Momentum Prep different?
Momentum Prep believes tutoring should begin with understanding the student—not selling a tutoring package.
Every family starts with a conversation.
We take the time to understand the student's academic background, learning style, confidence, goals, and timeline before recommending a plan.
Sometimes that means weekly tutoring.
Sometimes it means less.
Sometimes it means waiting to begin.
Our goal is simple: provide the recommendation we genuinely believe is best for the student.
What if we're not sure whether tutoring is even necessary?
That's exactly why we encourage families to schedule a consultation first.
Many parents reach out because they know something isn't working but aren't sure what the right next step should be.
During the consultation, Brad will discuss the student's situation, answer questions, and provide an honest recommendation—even if that recommendation is that tutoring isn't necessary at this time.
Our goal is to help families make informed decisions with confidence.
